Our pro anglers play an integral role in the development of Shakespearegear for the Australian market. Using Shakespeare, pflueger & Xtoolsproduct on a daily basis, they are involved in both a testing and advisorycapacity on the suitability of products for the wide variety of Australianfishing conditions.

 

Andrew McGovern is a fishing writer and photographer for anumber of national fishing magazines. He has been a regular contributor toFreshwater Fishing Australia, Saltwater Fishing Australia and Fishing Worldmagazines for the past 10 years. 

His Dad had him casting small metal lures for trout andsilver perch in the mid 1970’s before getting caught up in the land basedgamefishing craze in the 80s.

He has spent the past 20 years undertaking exploratory tripsto remote beaches and rocky headlands as well as fishing many diverse estuaryand rivers systems.

Diversity and variety is the facet of this great pastimethat Andrew enjoys the most. Some of his favourite forms of fishing currentlyare finesse casting with soft plastics, lurecasting spinnerbaits and hardbodies for our freshwater native species, and light tackle prospecting for trout.

 

Gary Brown

Fishing many different styles has given Gary a thorough allround fishing education, from bream and flathead in the estuaries, drummer andsalmon off the rocks and beaches to tuna and kings at sea.

Over the past 15 years Gary has taught many anglers how toimprove their fishing ability in his “How, Where, When and Why to Fish”classes. Gary is currently writing for NSW Fishing Monthly magazine, FishnetAustralia and the Fishing World web site. Gary has had articles published inSportsfish Australia, Trailer Boat and Freshwater Fishing.

A prolific author and film maker, Gary has numerous fishingbooks and DVD’s published, covering a wide variety of fishing locations andtechniques.

Enjoying considerable success as a tournament angler overthe last 3 years, Gary has made 4 grand finals and 2 finals  as well as as winning the 2007 AFTABream Pro Am on the Gold Coast.

 

Neil Schultz is an angling writer, photographer, commentatorand world record holder. 

His work regularly appears in several of this country’s mostrespected angling journals including Freshwater Fishing, Barra and Bass Digest,Australian and New Zealand Fly Fishing Annual and Fishing World. 

Neil took up salt water fly fishing in 1983 and withineighteen months was awarded his first national record for fly fishing.  

Since that fateful capture he has gone on to achievenational and world records for species from trout to tuna, including the first40lb plus barra on fly. He holds several current world records and long agolost count of his national records.

Enjoying most aspects of this diverse sport Neil fishesfreshwater rivers and lakes, saltwater estuaries and bays, land based andoffshore light tackle gamefishing. His ground breaking techniques forimpoundment barramundi forever changed the face of freshwater barra fishing inQueensland.
