What is the warranty on my product ?

Your new Shakespeare product comes with a limited warranty for a period of one year, unless otherwise stated, against defects in material and/or workmanship. Shakespeare will have no other obligation and will not be liable for incidental or consequential damages. Shakespeare makes no implied warranty of MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS for any period beyond the duration of each limited warranty. This warranty does not cover damage caused by addition to or alteration of the product, accident, abuse or normal wear. Damage that is determined to be of this nature will be repaired at the consumers expense. This warranty does not extend to products, which are put to commercial or rental use.

How do I have my product serviced?

This service is for Australian residents only. To obtain service under warranty, or to have your product repaired at your own expense, please take the item to the place of purchase. The tackle store staff will assess the product and organise for it to be sent to our service department.

Please note that all warranty claims require that the proof of purchase is supplied with the returned goods.

Why is my item not shown on the web site?

Every year Shakespeare manufactures hundreds of different products. Many of our biggest customers request exclusive brands and/or private label items. These brands are not listed on the web site. Many of the exclusive brand products are very similar to an item on the web site but only products produced for mass distribution, nationwide are listed.

How can I get a copy of the spare parts diagram for my Shakespeare reel ?

If you cannot find the spare parts diagram linked on the attached files section of the product itself (on this website), then just email us with the model number of your reel and we can either email or post you the diagram. If you would prefer it by mail, do not forget to include your postal address.

What is an Ugly Stik ?

In 1977, Shakespeare Fishing Tackle introduced the Ugly Stik fishing rod. A “special blend of fibres” made it the strongest, most sensitive rod on the market. The first Ugly Stik had the exclusive cleartip design, but when the Double Built Howald Process was used, the modern Ugly Stik was born. Since then, each Ugly Stik is made with an inner spiral of graphite covered by a layer of longitudinal e-glass fibres. This unique construction makes the Ugly Stik the strongest tubular rod available.
Since it’s introduction millions of Ugly Stiks have been sold worldwide.
Today, Shakespeare’s product line includes Ugly Stik rods for every kind of fishing.

What are the care instructions for the Neoprene and PVC/Nylon waders?

To maintain your new waders properly please ensure you turn your waders inside out and air dry thoroughly after each use and most definitely before storage. If necessary to wash your waders, they should only be washed by hand in cold water and drip-dried. No fabric softener. Do not dry-clean. Do not iron. Do not bleach. Do not dry in a tumble dryer. For stain removal use pre-wash stain removal treatment, follow the pre-wash manufacturer’s instructions and ensure you rinse well.
